Narrative:

The illumination of an amber warning light indicating a fault in the auto speedbrake system. Low speed rejected takeoff at approximately 55 KTS [when] I observed the amber 'speed brake do not arm' warning light illuminate. A low speed abort was initiated at approximately 60 KTS. The first officer confirmed the warning light illumination. Passengers and crew were notified; relevant QRH checklist was completed; dispatch and maintenance were contacted. The 'auto speed brake' and 'speed brake load alleviation' systems were assigned MEL's. We then continued the flight.
