Air carrier X descending to FL330, through en route at FL370. Air carrier X passed air carrier Y with less than 5 miles and less than 2000'. Callback conversation with reporter revealed following information. Reporter gave experience level of 3 controllers involved. There was OJT being conducted on manual position and on radar position. Also gave miss distances as determined by operation error review. Supplemental information from acn 101922. Sector 40/39 was busy with 19 contacts, including climbing aircraft, descending aircraft and en route aircraft. Air carrier X was cleared from FL390 to FL330 in preparation for landing about 25 miles east of ocs. Just west of ocs, air carrier X was turned to a 300 degree heading for spacing and sequencing into slc. Conflict alert activated between X at FL364 and air carrier Y at FL370 en route to atl.

Narrative: ACR X DSNDING TO FL330, THROUGH ENRTE AT FL370. ACR X PASSED ACR Y WITH LESS THAN 5 MILES AND LESS THAN 2000'. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED FOLLOWING INFO. RPTR GAVE EXPERIENCE LEVEL OF 3 CTLRS INVOLVED. THERE WAS OJT BEING CONDUCTED ON MANUAL POSITION AND ON RADAR POSITION. ALSO GAVE MISS DISTANCES AS DETERMINED BY OP ERROR REVIEW. ACR X WAS CLRED FROM FL390 TO FL330 IN PREPARATION FOR LNDG ABOUT 25 MILES E OF OCS. JUST W OF OCS, ACR X WAS TURNED TO A 300 DEG HDG FOR SPACING AND SEQUENCING INTO SLC. CONFLICT ALERT ACTIVATED BTWN X AT FL364 AND ACR Y AT FL370 ENRTE TO ATL.
