Narrative:
During stable cruise [we had an] amber indication on ED1 hydraulic 1 low pressure. Ran QRH and were directed to land at nearest suitable airport. Diverted to [nearest suitable] and complied with ATC instructions. On our descent we decided declaring an emergency was the right thing to do. Made visual approach with no issues and once clear of the runway we ended the emergency.
