Narrative:
This is a general safety concern. Approaching runway 31C at mdw for takeoff; we found it very difficult to see runway hold short markings. Lighting was very poor and there was heavy rain at the time. I believe that better markings and/or lighting are very much needed at this airport.

Title: A pilot reported that the MDW Runway 31C Hold Short Line is difficult to see at night and in the rain. Better lighting and/or more contrasting markings in that area are needed.
Narrative: This is a general safety concern. Approaching Runway 31C at MDW for takeoff; we found it very difficult to see runway hold short markings. Lighting was very poor and there was heavy rain at the time. I believe that better markings and/or lighting are very much needed at this airport.
