Narrative:
Air carrier medium large transport was holding over sxc VOR, 30 mi ssw of the sli, outside of coast TRACON's airspace. The aircraft could not land at sna because the runway lights were out again at sna. Lax was east traffic, sna north because of WX, not a normal operation. ZLA called harbor sector with 10000' and below northeast of sxc but only to 9 mi from sli, if we could work air carrier medium large transport to ont. I responded, 'yes, but run him...as if he came off lax for ont.' we did not receive the aircraft out of 15000', 14000', etc. The pilot checked in with us out of 11900' still not in our airspace. I had other coordination duties to complete and had to leave the position because of phone line tie ups. I did not hear the aircraft check in and did not hear the controller transfer the aircraft to another sector, nor did I complete coordination with the lax sector whose airspace the aircraft was heading for. I was told later the aircraft was 1.9 mi from an air carrier widebody transport.
