Narrative:
On climbing to cruise altitude; an EICAS alert of rh window overheat. Burn line appeared in rh forward windscreen; approximately 10 inches long and 1/4 inches wide. Within 30 seconds a loud pop occurred and the outer pain of that window shattered. Accomplished QRH checklist; pressurization normal. Declared an emergency and returned to the departure airport. Accomplished overweight land checklist and landed uneventful. Log book write-up made.

Title: A B757 EICAS alerted RH WINDOW OVHT followed by the windshield outer pane cracking so an emergency was declared; the QRH completed; and the flight returned to the departure airport.
