Narrative:

While on final approach to runway 26L, controller told us to slow for sep. We encountered wake turbulence from aircraft in front of us which violently rolled us 40 degrees + left and right. I added power and increased speed and altitude so as to maintain control of aircraft. Sep was too close for landing and we executed a go around. Suggestion: information from controller on aircraft type we are following especially large aircraft and this was an large transport, and miles of sep would be extremely helpful.

Title: ACR MLG VECTORED TOO CLOSE BEHIND ACR LGT ENCOUNTERS JET VORTEX CAUSING CONTROL DIFFICULTY. OPERATIONAL ERROR.

Narrative: WHILE ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 26L, CTLR TOLD US TO SLOW FOR SEP. WE ENCOUNTERED WAKE TURB FROM ACFT IN FRONT OF US WHICH VIOLENTLY ROLLED US 40 DEGS + L AND R. I ADDED PWR AND INCREASED SPD AND ALT SO AS TO MAINTAIN CTL OF ACFT. SEP WAS TOO CLOSE FOR LNDG AND WE EXECUTED A GO AROUND. SUGGESTION: INFO FROM CTLR ON ACFT TYPE WE ARE FOLLOWING ESPECIALLY LARGE ACFT AND THIS WAS AN LGT, AND MILES OF SEP WOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
