Hit birds [on takeoff] at roughly 1;000 ft as we were being handed off to departure. Had stick shaker due to aoa vane being sheared off. Declared an emergency and landed back to the departure airport.

Title: A B737-300 AOA vane was sheared off causing the stick shaker to activate after it struck birds during takeoff at 1;000 FT. An emergency was declared and the flight returned to landed at the departure airport.
