Narrative:
GPWS warning on visual approach to runway 26. The weather was VFR; visibility greater than 10 miles; clear skies and light turbulence. We were visually clear from terrain; and the terrain map was also showing us clear from terrain. Once we were aware of the GPWS warning we initiated a climb and the GPWS warning stop within 2 seconds. We continued the approach without further events. I would suggest not making such a direct course on the visual to runway 26. Go southwest over the terrain and then turn north for the base leg.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: An Air Carrier on approach to ABQ Runway 26 received a momentary GPWS TERRAIN warning which ceased quickly after a climb was begun so the approach descent was continued to a successful landing.
