Narrative:
On approach to mso airport the ATIS made no mention of dual tower frequency in effect 126.7 for the left and 123.95 for the right runways. The alternate tower frequency (123.95) is not listed on the approach plates. We were on approach to runway 29R at msp trying to get a tower frequency from approach control, however approach control was overloaded with communication from transient aircraft in the TCA. At 1500' MSL (700' AGL) approach control cleared us to land and to switch to 29R tower frequency 123.95. The msp approach control is overloaded, how about separate frequencys for transient aircraft? There is entirely too much chatter on primary approach frequency at msp. How about listing alternate tower frequencys on the commercial charts. There appears to be 'no' smooth transition from approach to tower at msp.

Title: NEW FREQ FOR R RWY AT MSP NOT PUBLISHED.
Narrative: ON APCH TO MSO ARPT THE ATIS MADE NO MENTION OF DUAL TWR FREQ IN EFFECT 126.7 FOR THE L AND 123.95 FOR THE R RWYS. THE ALTERNATE TWR FREQ (123.95) IS NOT LISTED ON THE APCH PLATES. WE WERE ON APCH TO RWY 29R AT MSP TRYING TO GET A TWR FREQ FROM APCH CTL, HOWEVER APCH CTL WAS OVERLOADED WITH COM FROM TRANSIENT ACFT IN THE TCA. AT 1500' MSL (700' AGL) APCH CTL CLRED US TO LAND AND TO SWITCH TO 29R TWR FREQ 123.95. THE MSP APCH CTL IS OVERLOADED, HOW ABOUT SEPARATE FREQS FOR TRANSIENT ACFT? THERE IS ENTIRELY TOO MUCH CHATTER ON PRIMARY APCH FREQ AT MSP. HOW ABOUT LISTING ALTERNATE TWR FREQS ON THE COMMERCIAL CHARTS. THERE APPEARS TO BE 'NO' SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM APCH TO TWR AT MSP.
