Narrative:
There is an FBO at cornelia fort airpark in nashville, tn, that persists in using 123.3 as unicom frequency for airport advisories. The published unicom frequency is 122.8. The FBO has been talked to for yrs but persists in using 123.3 for advisories to aircraft. I fly into there occasionally and also receive complaints from other pilots through my job as air traffic controller in FSS. I feel there is safety problem here with pilots using a frequency known to local pilots while other pilots, not knowing, come in using another frequency. Cornelia fort airpark is located close to nashville international airport and much traffic in the area. Sooner or later an accident will occur if something isn't done to force the FBO to use the correct authority/authorized frequency for airport advisories. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: us airport/facility/directory shows unicom frequency 122.8. AOPA book 1989 shows 123.3. Contact for the FBO is 123.3. Sectional chart shows 122.8. It is suspected the adjacent small airports also with 122.8 cause interference with cornelia park airport frequency of 122.8 and FBO has elected to use an odd frequency for more clarity, but the frequency is not assigned to him. AOPA apparently printed the frequency he gave them and did not investigate what his proper frequency should be.

Title: FBO AT SMALL ARPT USING UNASSIGNED UNICOM FREQ FOR ARPT INFORMATION.
Narrative: THERE IS AN FBO AT CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK IN NASHVILLE, TN, THAT PERSISTS IN USING 123.3 AS UNICOM FREQ FOR ARPT ADVISORIES. THE PUBLISHED UNICOM FREQ IS 122.8. THE FBO HAS BEEN TALKED TO FOR YRS BUT PERSISTS IN USING 123.3 FOR ADVISORIES TO ACFT. I FLY INTO THERE OCCASIONALLY AND ALSO RECEIVE COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PLTS THROUGH MY JOB AS AIR TFC CTLR IN FSS. I FEEL THERE IS SAFETY PROB HERE WITH PLTS USING A FREQ KNOWN TO LCL PLTS WHILE OTHER PLTS, NOT KNOWING, COME IN USING ANOTHER FREQ. CORNELIA FORT AIRPARK IS LOCATED CLOSE TO NASHVILLE INTL ARPT AND MUCH TFC IN THE AREA. SOONER OR LATER AN ACCIDENT WILL OCCUR IF SOMETHING ISN'T DONE TO FORCE THE FBO TO USE THE CORRECT AUTH FREQ FOR ARPT ADVISORIES. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: U.S. ARPT/FAC/DIRECTORY SHOWS UNICOM FREQ 122.8. AOPA BOOK 1989 SHOWS 123.3. CONTACT FOR THE FBO IS 123.3. SECTIONAL CHART SHOWS 122.8. IT IS SUSPECTED THE ADJACENT SMALL ARPTS ALSO WITH 122.8 CAUSE INTERFERENCE WITH CORNELIA PARK ARPT FREQ OF 122.8 AND FBO HAS ELECTED TO USE AN ODD FREQ FOR MORE CLARITY, BUT THE FREQ IS NOT ASSIGNED TO HIM. AOPA APPARENTLY PRINTED THE FREQ HE GAVE THEM AND DID NOT INVESTIGATE WHAT HIS PROPER FREQ SHOULD BE.
