Narrative:
On approach into sbn around 10 NM from the airport we were given a heading to join the 9R localizer for the ILS while level at 2;600 feet in IMC. As the localizer was coming alive we received a GPWS warning. The captain executed the GPWS escape maneuver and the warning went away. We notified ATC and leveled off around 3;000 feet. ATC vectored us back around and we shot the 9R ILS without any further warnings (this time ATC kept us at 3;000 feet until intercepting the GS).we complied with the GPWS warning and notified ATC of our change in altitude. Suspected false GPWS warning as there aren't in high obstacles in the area.
