Narrative:
After takeoff on runway 01 at imt I turned right crosswind to depart the pattern to the east. After completion of the right turn on climb out at approximately 500' AGL, I experienced complete electrical failure. I made an immediate right turn again, which put me on right downwind. I turned then base and final. On final, I noticed a commuter airliner, higher, behind me on my left, which would have put him on left base. At that point he was approximately 1 mi from my position. See diagram. The airliner apparently felt he was too close to me and turned around. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter talked to commuter pilot after back on ground. He got over his initial distress after hearing why reporter had no knowledge if he was heard or not. Major concerns were whether he would be able to extend gear and flaps, so he just continued turns for right pattern as he was attempting to extend them. Owns a commuter airline in area and is in constant contact with FAA. They see no problem.
