Narrative:
Student pilot contacted tower 6 mi from airport. Controller assigned pilot runway 22L initially, right traffic pattern. Pilot, when downwind abeam runway, was reassigned runway 22R and cleared to land. Pilot acknowledged runway 22R, made a high short approach, when controller determined pilot was going to land on runway 22L, ahead of small aircraft Y just touching down on runway 22L, go around instructions were issued immediately. Pilot continued with his landing on runway 22L.

Narrative: STUDENT PLT CONTACTED TWR 6 MI FROM ARPT. CTLR ASSIGNED PLT RWY 22L INITIALLY, RIGHT TFC PATTERN. PLT, WHEN DOWNWIND ABEAM RWY, WAS REASSIGNED RWY 22R AND CLRED TO LAND. PLT ACKNOWLEDGED RWY 22R, MADE A HIGH SHORT APCH, WHEN CTLR DETERMINED PLT WAS GOING TO LAND ON RWY 22L, AHEAD OF SMA Y JUST TOUCHING DOWN ON RWY 22L, GO AROUND INSTRUCTIONS WERE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY. PLT CONTINUED WITH HIS LNDG ON RWY 22L.
