Narrative:

Holding at 14000' MSL off the cvg 044 degree right at the intersection, left turns (approved). After 17 mins of holding center directed air carrier flight xx to descend from 13000' MSL to 12000' MSL and to proceed direct to cvg. We were then told to turn right to heading 270 degrees and to remain at 14000'. At precisely xa hours we temporarily broke out of the IFR conditions and saw an air carrier jet (large transport) descending through our altitude in a slight left turn. Estimated distance was 500'. We could make out the registration #'south. We went back into IFR conditions, entered the jet's wake turbulence and lost 200' before recovering back to 14000'. We notified center of the near miss and he advised us that he showed air carrier flight xx descending out of 13000 for 12000', and that there was no conflict.
