Narrative:
I went on a personal practice flight to build up my flight time in a new model small aircraft B, in which I was recently checked out. I practiced several maneuvers (for about an hour) and returned. I asked the tower for 1 touch and go, followed by a full stop, which was approved. Landing was smooth and at the beginning of the runway, on the roll-out, I accidentally retracted the landing gear. The aircraft slowly veered to the left and settled down on a sandy ground next to the runway. I secured the plane by turning off all the switches (mags, fuel, etc), and exited the plane. I waited near the plane before an airport official arrived. The aircraft sustained only minor damage. The reason for retracting the gear was that on previous days (including the day before) I was flying an small aircraft C that has the flap and gear switches reversed. Also the gear handle on the small aircraft B resembles in size the flap handle.

Title: PLT OF SMA INADVERTENTLY RETRACTED GEAR ON ROLL-OUT. ACFT VEERED LEFT AND SETTLED TO GND OFF RWY. MINOR DAMAGE TO ACFT.
Narrative: I WENT ON A PERSONAL PRACTICE FLT TO BUILD UP MY FLT TIME IN A NEW MODEL SMA B, IN WHICH I WAS RECENTLY CHKED OUT. I PRACTICED SEVERAL MANEUVERS (FOR ABOUT AN HR) AND RETURNED. I ASKED THE TWR FOR 1 TOUCH AND GO, FOLLOWED BY A FULL STOP, WHICH WAS APPROVED. LNDG WAS SMOOTH AND AT THE BEGINNING OF THE RWY, ON THE ROLL-OUT, I ACCIDENTALLY RETRACTED THE LNDG GEAR. THE ACFT SLOWLY VEERED TO THE LEFT AND SETTLED DOWN ON A SANDY GND NEXT TO THE RWY. I SECURED THE PLANE BY TURNING OFF ALL THE SWITCHES (MAGS, FUEL, ETC), AND EXITED THE PLANE. I WAITED NEAR THE PLANE BEFORE AN ARPT OFFICIAL ARRIVED. THE ACFT SUSTAINED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE. THE REASON FOR RETRACTING THE GEAR WAS THAT ON PREVIOUS DAYS (INCLUDING THE DAY BEFORE) I WAS FLYING AN SMA C THAT HAS THE FLAP AND GEAR SWITCHES REVERSED. ALSO THE GEAR HANDLE ON THE SMA B RESEMBLES IN SIZE THE FLAP HANDLE.
