Narrative:
Did not see the altitude restriction on the SID (5000'). Passing 6000' fra departure brought it to our attention and we immediately descended back to 5000'. Looking at the SID later we saw the altitude restriction at the top of the printed section and not in the specific instructions for our departure. The only altitude note was to climb above 3500' before turning. The chart used was commercial. The SID was giessen 1 golf departure (gin 1 G). Departure runway, 25R. All 3 of us in the crew were looking at the departure. None of us saw where there was any altitude restriction. Fatigue was a definite factor. I had only 3 hours of sleep in a 30 hour period.
