A passenger agent was able to quickly remove his/her hands from danger when the flight attendant closed the passenger door from the inside as the reporter was reaching to do so from outside the aircraft.

Narrative:
While I was in the process of closing the passenger entry door from the outside the flight attendant closed the door from inside the aircraft. I wasn't aware that he was going to close the door and didn't expect it to happen. But; fortunately; when the door quickly closed shut I was able to keep my hands from being smashed by the force of the door quickly moving in my direction. My hands could have been crushed between the door handle and the door. After this incident occurred; I immediately notified management.

Narrative: While I was in the process of closing the passenger entry door from the outside the Flight Attendant closed the door from inside the aircraft.
