Narrative:

VFR; on flight following; leaving orlando class B; near ksfb; controller starts to mention that restricted zones ahead of my flight path are active (hot). R-2910(a; B; C); R-2907(a; B; C). But soon abruptly stops and tells me to disregard the last transmission because those areas just went inactive (cold). After that I read back the instructions to disregard last transmission; since areas went cold. Next; controller tells me that radar services are terminated and to squawk VFR and if I want further flight following to contact jax approach at certain frequency; which I read back the instructions for. Squawked VFR tuned in the frequency and contacted jax approach. Didn't talk to jax right away because people were on frequency and had to let them finish. Then jax confirmed that I have radar contact; and next transmission controller told me that I have entered hot restricted airspace. Quickly vectored me to the east which I followed the instructions for. Next transmission was the fact that he received clearance for me to pass through the restricted airspace; and turned me around on a heading of west; which I followed the instructions for. Before leaving the restricted airspace the controller gave me a phone number to contact jax approach when I am on the ground for possible pilot deviation. I copied down the number and read it back correctly. Shortly after he handed me off to the next jax controller on a different frequency. The next controller asked me about how fast I contacted them after orlando let me go; I explained that it was about 5-10 minutes. I explained that orlando clarified to disregard the last transmission about restricted airspace; I also pointed out that I have the number and as soon as I get on the ground I will give them a call. After another 5-10 minutes controller contacted me again telling me not to worry about contacting them on the number that was provided because they have figured it out. I read back the instructions and never contacted them; I also inquired about filling out the NASA report and the controller pointed out that that is at my discretion. Based on today's flight I decided to fill out this report.

Original NASA ASRS Text

Title: PA28 pilot on flight following was notified by the Controller that he was in restricted airspace and given a heading; after being told by the previous Controller that the airspace was cold. The current Controller then learns the airspace is in fact cold and clears the reporter on course.
