Narrative:

We had just leveled at 13;000 ft when both mcdu's went 'blank' (just menu prompts; with no FMGC prompt for a few seconds) and both map displays went blank on the nd's. We were able to re-enter the initialization information and restore nav/map capability after a few minutes. Just after the FMGC blanked; ATC assigned 7;000 ft. We advised ATC of the loss of navigation and requested to remain at 13;000 ft; as well as assigned heading. ATC re-assigned us as requested; with a slight change in heading assigned. We were able to re-establish the FMGC within a minute or two and resume the arrival. No emergency was declared and I am not aware of any priority handling for traffic priority received. The FMGC and IRU drift rate were written up to maintenance on arrival.
