Narrative:
While following an small aircraft Z for landing I called to confirm that the small aircraft Z was over the #'south. I then was given clearance to land and turned final. An small aircraft Y made a sharp turn to pass 200' below me with the purpose behind to cut in front of my aircraft. When I called the tower for an explanation they told me the small aircraft Y had cut me out. I was told to continue my approach. I landed behind the small aircraft Y which landed long and allowed room for both planes on runway. I believe the tower should have warned me of the when I became apparent that I was not following direction. Also I believe that they should have directed me to go around rather than allow both planes the runway. The real problem however seems to be an attitude problem by the pilot of the small aircraft Y. I have seen a similar incident within the last 2 weeks between a single engine and twin engine. I cannot be sure but I believe the small aircraft Y was also involved in that incident.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: LOW TIME PLT IN TRAFFIC PATTERN APPARENTLY 'CUT OFF' BY OTHER ACFT. NO INTERVENTION OR WARNING BY TWR.
Narrative: WHILE FOLLOWING AN SMA Z FOR LNDG I CALLED TO CONFIRM THAT THE SMA Z WAS OVER THE #'S. I THEN WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO LAND AND TURNED FINAL. AN SMA Y MADE A SHARP TURN TO PASS 200' BELOW ME WITH THE PURPOSE BEHIND TO CUT IN FRONT OF MY ACFT. WHEN I CALLED THE TWR FOR AN EXPLANATION THEY TOLD ME THE SMA Y HAD CUT ME OUT. I WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE MY APCH. I LANDED BEHIND THE SMA Y WHICH LANDED LONG AND ALLOWED ROOM FOR BOTH PLANES ON RWY. I BELIEVE THE TWR SHOULD HAVE WARNED ME OF THE WHEN I BECAME APPARENT THAT I WAS NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTION. ALSO I BELIEVE THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DIRECTED ME TO GO AROUND RATHER THAN ALLOW BOTH PLANES THE RWY. THE REAL PROB HOWEVER SEEMS TO BE AN ATTITUDE PROB BY THE PLT OF THE SMA Y. I HAVE SEEN A SIMILAR INCIDENT WITHIN THE LAST 2 WKS BTWN A SINGLE ENG AND TWIN ENG. I CANNOT BE SURE BUT I BELIEVE THE SMA Y WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN THAT INCIDENT.
