Narrative:
High wind with a crosswind component. Upon landing, a gust of wind and plane came down hard on the nose gear. It collapsed. It had previously had a considerable amount of nose wheel shimmy. It was over in a matter of seconds and there was no time to take any corrective action.

Title: GA SMA LANDED DRIFTING ON THE NOSE WHEEL AND IT COLLAPSED.
Narrative: HIGH WIND WITH A XWIND COMPONENT. UPON LNDG, A GUST OF WIND AND PLANE CAME DOWN HARD ON THE NOSE GEAR. IT COLLAPSED. IT HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF NOSE WHEEL SHIMMY. IT WAS OVER IN A MATTER OF SECONDS AND THERE WAS NO TIME TO TAKE ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION.
