Narrative:
Approaching stormville, ny, circled, entered pattern behind aircraft shooting lndgs. On down heard 'on final for 24' aircraft in front of me on final landed. I turned base to final and landed. Later while on the ground a polite man stated that we had near miss with Y when I turned base to final. I was not aware of it. While on downwind I asked my passenger to look for aircraft on long final, neither of us saw any traffic except aircraft landing on short final. When I questioned the near miss he stated that he was on straight in at higher altitude than me. He was not in the pattern at any time, to this point. With these questions from me he appeared miffed. 1) far 91.67 aircraft at lower altitude has certain preference. 2) pilots coming in to uncontrolled airport should enter pattern and avoid straight-in approach.

Title: TWO LIGHT ACFT HAVE NMAC AT UNCONTROLLED ARPT.
Narrative: APCHING STORMVILLE, NY, CIRCLED, ENTERED PATTERN BEHIND ACFT SHOOTING LNDGS. ON DOWN HEARD 'ON FINAL FOR 24' ACFT IN FRONT OF ME ON FINAL LANDED. I TURNED BASE TO FINAL AND LANDED. LATER WHILE ON THE GND A POLITE MAN STATED THAT WE HAD NEAR MISS WITH Y WHEN I TURNED BASE TO FINAL. I WAS NOT AWARE OF IT. WHILE ON DOWNWIND I ASKED MY PAX TO LOOK FOR ACFT ON LONG FINAL, NEITHER OF US SAW ANY TFC EXCEPT ACFT LNDG ON SHORT FINAL. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE NEAR MISS HE STATED THAT HE WAS ON STRAIGHT IN AT HIGHER ALT THAN ME. HE WAS NOT IN THE PATTERN AT ANY TIME, TO THIS POINT. WITH THESE QUESTIONS FROM ME HE APPEARED MIFFED. 1) FAR 91.67 ACFT AT LOWER ALT HAS CERTAIN PREFERENCE. 2) PLTS COMING IN TO UNCONTROLLED ARPT SHOULD ENTER PATTERN AND AVOID STRAIGHT-IN APCH.
