Narrative:
Was climbing out of phx airport. Was given a heading and instructed to climb to 14;000 ft. We were then handed off to another ATC controller and then had TCAS RA and descended. Was questioned by controller. To us it sounded like no coordination of our instructions during handoff. Poor communications and lack of ATC coordination.

Title: Near 10;000 FT while climbing out from PHX; an air carrier crew took evasive action after a TCAS RA DESCEND alert; as another aircraft passed close by.
Narrative: Was climbing out of PHX airport. Was given a heading and instructed to climb to 14;000 FT. We were then handed off to another ATC Controller and then had TCAS RA and descended. Was questioned by Controller. To us it sounded like no coordination of our instructions during handoff. Poor communications and lack of ATC coordination.
