Narrative:
There are lights on the terminal building near gates X that are intended to illuminate the ramp area. The lights are aimed in a manner that causes severe glare and a loss of night vision for any crew taxiing on the ramp; especially for crews attempting to park at those gates. We had such difficulty seeing that we considered shutting down and requesting a tow to the gate. I'm still not completely certain we should not have done so.the airport/company should change the location/aiming point of those lights as soon as possible.
