Narrative:
Ap mis trim annunciation in the descent occurred. Disconnected the autopilot and tried to re-trim aircraft. I was unable to re-trim aircraft so decided it was a lodged trim in elevator trim control. Declared emergency; ran the appropriate checklist; and landed. Upon shutdown and paperwork I then went back into aircraft; turned battery back on and tried manual trim and when I did that notice my ipad was down there and had lodged the trim wheel. To prevent this from happening again I would make sure loose items; checklist; electronics; ipads need to be placed in a safe and secure location.
