Narrative:
Loss of 300' due to engine (left) stoppage. Gauge and instrument scan moments prior to stoppage indicated 1/4 in both auxiliary tanks. Subsequent fuel consumption calculations indicated possible but not probable fuel depletion in the left auxiliary tank. Engine restored after switching to main tanks. Altitude was regained and maintained without further incident. Actual experience with fuel consumption above 12,000' is limited and contributed to the problem if depletion was in fact the cause. Ceiling and visibility were unlimited with no reported aircraft in the area.

Title: SUDDEN STOPPAGE OF LEFT ENGINE AT CRUISE ALT AND SPEED. ALT DEVIATION EXCURSION FROM ASSIGNED.
Narrative: LOSS OF 300' DUE TO ENGINE (LEFT) STOPPAGE. GAUGE AND INSTRUMENT SCAN MOMENTS PRIOR TO STOPPAGE INDICATED 1/4 IN BOTH AUX TANKS. SUBSEQUENT FUEL CONSUMPTION CALCULATIONS INDICATED POSSIBLE BUT NOT PROBABLE FUEL DEPLETION IN THE LEFT AUX TANK. ENGINE RESTORED AFTER SWITCHING TO MAIN TANKS.
