Narrative:
Below is a verbatim copy of by debrief to my company. On my radar, magenta indicates turbulence, the red indicates heavy rain. 'Shortly after takeoff from ord we requested and received a 240 degree heading to avoid a very heavy thunderstorm. This cell painted a red and magenta area that was in excess of 20 mi across. The second controller attempted several times to have us fly into the thunderstorm. We advised that we were not able to turn and fly into the WX cell. Finally this controller advised that either we turned into the thunderstorm or we would be vectored for a landing on 32L at ord. No available option was satisfactory but we accepted the turn to ord. After changing frequencys we were able to receive vectors out of the ord area. It is my opinion that the controller that attempted several times to hazard my air carrier flight does not have the mentality for any ATC job.'

Title: FLT CREW OF WDB REFUSED VECTOR INTO VISIBLE TSTM. DEP CTLR ADVISED THE FLT TO RETURN TO ORD AND LAND, CHANGE OF FREQ, NEXT CTLR GAVE VECTORS TO DEPART THE AREA.
