On final approach [a] large bird dove at the aircraft and struck the nose gear. The altitude was approximately 2;000 feet MSL. The air brake horn sounded [and] both hydraulic low pressure warning lights illuminated. A go-around was initiated. Departure control was contacted. Emergency declared. All appropriate normal and emergency checklists were completed. The emergency equipment met the aircraft after it stopped on the runway; about 6;000 feet from approach end. The landing gear was pinned and the aircraft was towed off the runway and to the hangar.
