Narrative:
While trying to maneuver my plane into a parking spot; I looked out the right window and saw I was extremely close to another plane's spinner and stepped on the brakes quickly. I shut the plane down and walked out to the wingtip and there was no evidence of contact with the other aircraft. It was an extremely close call and could have been worse if I had been any closer or any faster. The flight school airplanes had all been moved from their normal parking spots because the taxiways are in the process of being repaved and are much closer to each other. I recommend painting a temporary line in front of the parked aircraft beyond which no aircraft can taxi so that other instructors do not have this problem. Also I think I should not have been trying to rush back to the parking spot.
