Narrative:
Boy, did I screw up! I was flying and we were cleared for the runway 21 VOR approach at foe. The VOR is located northeast of town. On the approach you pass topeka billard municipal airport. Foe has 2 runways, 21/3 and 13/31. Billard has 3 runways, 2 of which make it resemble foe from a distance. Well, you can guess the rest. Inbound on the approach I see billard and think it's foe. Foe tower clears us to land on runway 21. I'm now maneuvering visually for billard runway 22. On final with our gear down we finally decide we're at the wrong airport, go missed approach over to foe and land. On the ground I called foe tower and billard tower. Both said not to worry, that it happens on a regular basis, so they automatically clear the airspace out while the foe VOR DME runway 21 is being used. Boy, do I feel dumb!
