Narrative:
Tracking south on AR7 off of dixon NDB 199 degree radial then eventually inbound on the bimini NDB 012 degree radial we were approximately 250 mi south when jax center advised us to turn left heading 170 degree to reintercept AR7 we were 17 mi west of course! One onboard equipment showed us on course with a good identifier. Checking with center, straying off course is not unusual using those navaids. My opinion they are obsolete for those distances and should be removed. In the future I'll ask for vectors to the next VOR.
