Narrative:
Smoke warning light went off. Cabin had filled with smoke. Cockpit was filling with smoke. We began the emergency descent. ATC cleared us to the airport. Below 10;000 feet we were still doing about 256 KTS. The gear was dropped 226 KTS. It was an emergency so no prevention can be taken. Smoke; possible fire in flight.

Title: At altitude the crew of a DHC 8-400 responded to a smoke filled cabin and smoke invading the cockpit by advising ATC; initiating an emergency descent; and landing.
