Electrical smoke in cockpit.[we were] enroute to [our destination] with 6 passengers. Climbing through FL220 smoke was seen coming from [the] central pedestal near the FMS unit. Memory items for electrical smoke checklist completed [and a] emergency descent was performed. Vectors to closest airport were requested.power was turned off and continued to [the divert airport] a slats only landing initiated and stopped aircraft on runway with crash/fire equipment standing by.emergency evacuation performed and all persons exited the aircraft.
