Narrative:

Company policy re an established route which avoided overflying an old woman's house whom has harassed us and its helicopter pilots is the primary problem. Almost on a daily basis this old woman will call our flight operations and once that I know of to the chief executive officer to complain about overflts, regardless of our altitude, regardless if it is our helicopters or not, regardless if the fog/stratus forces to fly overhead, etc. To make matters worse, even though I could maintain helicopter VFR, I technically should have received clearance to transit their control zone special VFR, whenever torrance was below basic VFR, even though the route is on the fringe of their control zone. The company route, noise abatement, ATC procedure of contacting hawthorne tower before lax copter control, the 3 NM torrance control zone and vagueness of the TCA chart with regard to find ground references, and vagueness of 91.85, controller misunderstanding and misapplication of far parts 91.105 and 107 as they apply to helicopters makes getting around the los angeles basin a nightmare. Most of the controllers don't know exactly where their airspace begins or ends and don't know how to coordinate with each other and don't know what it means whenever I ask to be 'handed off' from one to the other.

Title: ACFT HAS DIFFICULT TIME STAYING ON VFR ROUTE.
