Narrative:
After ground preflight, runup, and flying, including several takeoffs, lndgs, a takeoff and climb to approximately 800' AGL was made. At beginning of turn to downwind, the small aircraft X began to shake. Engine instruments were registering normally. An immediate turn toward runway 5 was made, radio contact with unicom 123.0 made telling of the need to return to airport. A regional carrier was on runway 23 about to take off and was requested to leave runway which happened prior to small aircraft X touchdown. Power was available on emergency approach. Taxied to GA and shut down small aircraft X. A puddle of oil noted under aircraft. FBO's had a quick look under cowling and determined a piston had failed and push rod was bent.
