Narrative:
After landing on runway 34 at richmond, va, in mod rain, I was told to hold short first officer runway 20 for takeoff aircraft. I turned left at the end of runway 34 onto taxiway 1. Being dark, poorly lighted, and mod rain, we did not see the hold lines for runway 20 and found ourselves on runway 20. Seeing no traffic on runway 20, I continued across and advised ground control we were clear of runway 20. The takeoff traffic passed over us 30 seconds later. I feel more lights and clearer hold lines would help prevent occurrence again.
