Narrative:
Following landing on runway 06; we were instructed to 'exit taxiway B and hold short of runway 1.' we exited the runway as instructed; and crossed the first set of hold short markings while looking for the second set denoting the holding position for the intersecting runway 01. We did not realize that those two normally separate sets of markings were; in this case; consolidated into a single group. Aim 4-3-20-b states 'taxi clear of the runway unless otherwise directed by ATC. An aircraft is considered clear of the runway when all parts of the aircraft are past the runway edge and there are no restrictions to its continued movement beyond the runway holding position markings. In the absence of ATC instructions; the pilot is expected to taxi clear of the landing runway by taxiing beyond the runway holding position markings associated with the landing runway; even if that requires the aircraft to protrude into or cross another taxiway or ramp area. Once all parts of the aircraft have crossed the runway holding position markings; the pilot must hold unless further instructions have been issued by ATC.' it is impossible to be completely clear of runway 06 and hold short of runway 01 in the manner required by the aim. We were never instructed to not taxi beyond the holding position markings for runway 06. Normally; when exiting a runway; we try to ensure we are well clear; as we can't see traffic that might be landing behind us; but we can normally see what is directly in front of us. When asked how often this happens; the tower supervisor on duty at teb with whom we spoke; stated this happens 'about once a month.' that response indicates to me that this is more than just an occasional occurrence. Are two planes full of people going to have to die to get this issue fixed? The tower supervisor also stated that there are talks of eliminating taxiway B and constructing a high speed taxiway exiting runway 06 in the vicinity of the current taxiway B paralleling runway 06 to join taxiway a. This sounds like a great plan that should be executed without undue haste.
