Narrative:

During the period, 3/89 - 8/89, I've been flying 2 aircraft under part 135 on EMS missions. The aircraft did not have current regulation certificates on board, only the pink application for registration certificates. I am employed by XXX operator and trusted them to put the valid registration certificate in place when they were received. This did not happen. The violation was discovered by an FAA maintenance inspector during a ramp check. Also found was a discrepancy in the weight and balance equipment list not having an a&P's signature for equipment removed. There are 7 pilots and 3 mechanics working here--how could we have overlooked this document for so long?
