Narrative:
When we arrived on the plane we proceeded with our preflight. When I reached the back of the plane I noticed the aft center jumpseat was secured by its harness. I was not familiar with the protocol that this meant the jumpseat was inop. I proceeded with my preflight since I did not notice the small inop sticker under the jumpseat. As a result of the aft center jumpseat being inop I should have been in the acm jumpseat for this flight. I was not briefed by a captain on the aft center jumpseat being inop until [a later flight].
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A flight attendant; unaware her normal jumpseat was deferred and not usable; used it for an initial flight and was only briefed as to its status prior to a subsequent departure.
