Narrative:
Possibly an ATC test, ZFW, 132.42, giving climb clrncs and asking for 'identify' instead of readback of clearance for confirmation. This is a major breach of safety, as there was no safeguard to assure the clearance was properly understood, or even if the right aircraft had responded. This procedure strips all safety protection by the normal procedure of reading back pertinent information--heading, altitude, etc. Again, a major safety problem.

Title: ACR LGT FLT CREW COMPLAINT ABOUT ARTCC RADAR CTLR USING IDENTIFIER FOR CLRNC CONFIRMATION INSTEAD OF READBACK.
Narrative: POSSIBLY AN ATC TEST, ZFW, 132.42, GIVING CLB CLRNCS AND ASKING FOR 'IDENT' INSTEAD OF READBACK OF CLRNC FOR CONFIRMATION. THIS IS A MAJOR BREACH OF SAFETY, AS THERE WAS NO SAFEGUARD TO ASSURE THE CLRNC WAS PROPERLY UNDERSTOOD, OR EVEN IF THE RIGHT ACFT HAD RESPONDED. THIS PROC STRIPS ALL SAFETY PROTECTION BY THE NORMAL PROC OF READING BACK PERTINENT INFO--HDG, ALT, ETC. AGAIN, A MAJOR SAFETY PROB.
