Narrative:
#3 engine vibration warning followed periods of sensed vibration. Engine shutdown completed, and drift down to FL280 begun. Subsequently descended to FL260. Requested quiet/discrete frequency. A couple were given, but several further frequency changes made. Landing was made at dfw west/O incident, runway 17L. A single quiet frequency could have prevented a lot of interruptions during checklist and engine review, as well as in event of further emergencys. After considering WX and flight conditions, emergency was not declared.

Title: ENGINE SHUTDOWN ON LGT ACCOUNT VIBRATION.
Narrative: #3 ENG VIBRATION WARNING FOLLOWED PERIODS OF SENSED VIBRATION. ENG SHUTDOWN COMPLETED, AND DRIFT DOWN TO FL280 BEGUN. SUBSEQUENTLY DSNDED TO FL260. REQUESTED QUIET/DISCRETE FREQ. A COUPLE WERE GIVEN, BUT SEVERAL FURTHER FREQ CHANGES MADE. LNDG WAS MADE AT DFW W/O INCIDENT, RWY 17L. A SINGLE QUIET FREQ COULD HAVE PREVENTED A LOT OF INTERRUPTIONS DURING CHKLIST AND ENG REVIEW, AS WELL AS IN EVENT OF FURTHER EMERS. AFTER CONSIDERING WX AND FLT CONDITIONS, EMER WAS NOT DECLARED.
