Narrative:
On downwind leg abeam the airport; west side at 3;500 feet in IMC; we received an oral warning: 'terrain terrain; pull up.' we climbed; notified ATC; and leveled off at 4;500 feet. Oral warning quickly ceased. We were in radar contact throughout the entire flight. No other warnings occurred. Continued to destination safely. I believe this was a computer glitch.
