Narrative:

Called rkp unicom 10 mi northeast inbound for landing. I was told 32 active, with navy MTR in pattern. I called 5 mi northeast, downwind, base, final. Only reply was from helicopter landing. We had each other in sight, but we had no visibility contact with the navy MTR and no response on the radio from him (MTR). On my departure on runway 32, I looked for traffic and called my departure on unicom. After I was airborne I saw an MTR ahead and to my right. I apparently pulled out and took off in front of the MTR. I found out with phone call to airport that MTR's only use UHF radios. I feel if we were all using VHF, this incident probably would not have happened. I will be more careful the next time I use an uncontrolled airport.
