Narrative:

We lost electrical above the overcast at night. I attempted a call to coast approach but the radios were inoperative due to loss of electrical. Found a hole in the overcast, remained VFR, went into the air traffic area, observed the flow of traffic, entered on the downwind and landed. We taxied and then called the tower by telephone and they said everything was fine.
