Narrative:
Throttle cable became detached at the throttle body; cotter pin was missing from castle nut; engine RPM was stuck at 1800 RPM. Engine was troubleshot according to the checklist with no improvement. Emergency landing was made at a private airport. The engine was relatively new at 10 days old - around 20 hours of flight time. I circled the airport before setting up for an emergency landing and shutting down the engine short final. A safe landing was made; nobody was hurt and after being fixed by the mechanic the aircraft was flown back to home base.
