Narrative:
Upon arrival at camarillo airport a normal overflt of the runway was performed and procedure turns for a downwind and sequencing to base and final were done in the prescribed manner. All calls were made on the listed unicom frequency of 122.8. After landing and taxi off the active a small sign was seen stating 'ground 121.8'. I then contacted ground and was clearly informed that the airport now has a temporary tower and what the correct frequencys are. The controller said they had only been operational a few months and there have been a few tower frequency changes. I apologized and stated that I had followed the most current information I could obtain. If they change (the tower or controling facility) frequency before a chart and map and local guide information sources can make the change it might be a good idea for them to at least monitor the old assigned frequency and inform the pilot using same of the change before a conflict develops.

Title: SMA PLT ENTERS ATA WITHOUT TWR COM AND LANDS WITHOUT CLRNC. ASSUMES THAT ARPT IS NON TWR UNICOM ARPT.
Narrative: UPON ARR AT CAMARILLO ARPT A NORMAL OVERFLT OF THE RWY WAS PERFORMED AND PROC TURNS FOR A DOWNWIND AND SEQUENCING TO BASE AND FINAL WERE DONE IN THE PRESCRIBED MANNER. ALL CALLS WERE MADE ON THE LISTED UNICOM FREQ OF 122.8. AFTER LNDG AND TAXI OFF THE ACTIVE A SMALL SIGN WAS SEEN STATING 'GND 121.8'. I THEN CONTACTED GND AND WAS CLEARLY INFORMED THAT THE ARPT NOW HAS A TEMPORARY TWR AND WHAT THE CORRECT FREQS ARE. THE CTLR SAID THEY HAD ONLY BEEN OPERATIONAL A FEW MONTHS AND THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW TWR FREQ CHANGES. I APOLOGIZED AND STATED THAT I HAD FOLLOWED THE MOST CURRENT INFO I COULD OBTAIN. IF THEY CHANGE (THE TWR OR CTLING FAC) FREQ BEFORE A CHART AND MAP AND LOCAL GUIDE INFO SOURCES CAN MAKE THE CHANGE IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA FOR THEM TO AT LEAST MONITOR THE OLD ASSIGNED FREQ AND INFORM THE PLT USING SAME OF THE CHANGE BEFORE A CONFLICT DEVELOPS.
