Narrative:
As flight was lining up with the gate utilizing the dgs; a white; full-size; pickup truck approached from the aircraft right at a high rate of speed and accelerating. Crew was forced to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision. Flight attendant reported that several passengers in window seats on the right side of the aircraft had been alarmed that we were about to get hit.after the threat was avoided; crew completed parking safely and reported the incident to ramp control. A ramp manager was requested. The manager was advised of the extremely unsafe driving. The chief pilot was also advised of the situation.

Title: CRJ200 Captain reports a near collision with a high speed pickup truck while attempting to park at the gate using the DGS. A quick by the Captain avoids the collision.
Narrative: As flight was lining up with the Gate utilizing the DGS; a white; full-size; pickup truck approached from the aircraft right at a high rate of speed and accelerating.
