Narrative:
Departed with passenger on a scenic flight. About 40 minutes into flight; reduced throttle and descended from 900 ft. To 500 ft. When throttle added; subaru engine choked each time I attempted to add power above low cruise. I was over open pasture and conducted a safe precautionary landing. No damage or injuries. Upon return to airport; engine checked out and no systems found defective. Engine test run on ground to full throttle with no issues. Conditions were humid and icing is suspected.
