Narrative:
Concerning a GPWS event which occurred as we descended toward mdpc. We were in level flight with the terr button pushed. Nothing was indicated on the screen. We got a terrain pull up call. We did it 1.5 G to 5;000 feet and continued on to mdpc for a normal landing.

Title: An A319 Captain reported taking evasive action to an EGPWS alert level at 5;000 feet preparing for an approach to MDPC/PUJ Runway 9. The NAVIGATIONAL TERRAIN Display did not activate.
Narrative: Concerning a GPWS event which occurred as we descended toward MDPC. We were in level flight with the TERR button pushed. Nothing was indicated on the screen. We got a Terrain Pull up call. We did it 1.5 G to 5;000 feet and continued on to MDPC for a normal landing.
